Even if this is not your first Reiki experience, we prefer you schedule a free consultation before scheduling an appointment. This will allow you to have all of your questions answered so that you can make the most of your scheduled session. A consultation will also allow you and the practitioner to determine whether the method, approach and practice performed at Lotus Petals Therapy, is right for you.
If you are new to Reiki, we offer an introductory session which will allow you to become familiar with the concepts and sample the practice. This is also a good time to make decisions about whether you will schedule an in-person session or virtual – and the appropriate setup for your virtual session (on or off camera, by phone or by schedule).
When you schedule an in-person session, your Practitioner will call you to confirm your arrangements and discuss what to expect from your appointment. However, you can prepare that discussion with our guide (click here). We have dedicated this section to the less familiar aspects of distance healing and our online and virtual sessions.
All sessions except consultations require informed consent regarding your healing session, telemedicine connection, HIPAA and client rights. Signed forms must be received by our office before your session begins.
How to Connect
When receiving a distance or remote healing session, you are encouraged to lie down or sit down at a pre-arranged time, just like an in-person session. While it may seem tempting to do errands, or other tasks during this time, it is important that you give yourself permission to focus on you and your healing experience to get the most out of your session. Either way, I will be in my healing office at this same time, performing the techniques associated with your energy body (which I can sense).
You can choose from many options for receiving distance or remote healing. Regardless of your choice, you will receive a link to connect through our HIPAA-compliant telemedicine platform, thera-LINK.
Preparing for Remote Healing
What to Expect
During the session, we will discuss your intention and the healing determined to be most beneficial for you on that day. All of the healing modalities utilized are physically non-invasive, although some may require your interaction. Others are so relaxing you may fall asleep – this is OK and happens for some clients. You do not have to “feel” anything for the distance healing to work but sensations to include tingling, warmth, coolness, heaviness turning to lightness are reported most often.
Try not to analyze your session based on your physical sensations. Reiki travels to the client’s highest good and the effects may not be realized immediately.
